I didn’t miss a day, even when I fell and broke my shoulder and wrist.
A wonderful commitment. Here’s to the second year!
consumed
dedicated to Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer
who lit a flame—my first year of poems
complete, every day
a great wave
swept through,
washed out chunks
of me—there’s still
unrest, quiet concerns
and a mother’s angst
but as I wake at dawn
it’s there, unasked
love first—
I give it wings
picture it catching
a ride in the blue,
sailing on clouds
in sheets of rain,
or the steady stare
of first-light deer—
as dawn turns to day
love finds its way
a tender dusting
everywhere

I’m writing a poem a day. These are drafts—not final versions.
Bravo on your first full year of daily poems! What an accomplishment! Here’s to Rosemerry and her excellent inspiration!
