where I’m from
note from self
white gloves and
chic hats for town
silver servers at dinner
this is where I’m from
but not who I am
now I wear blue jeans
and T-shirts with
sleek dogs by my side—
but this is not
who I am
see clear space
and open air
a flash of bird wing
and unbounded love
find me there

Thanks! My poetry mentor, Fran, suggested in critique group that each of us should write a poem about where were from.
Love you, dear friend,
Amrita (and I’m dictating!)
