Feelings and thoughts are never really true. They lag behind, and they do not ever reflect this moment.
Why do we rely on them? Because we were taught to do so. But perhaps we were not taught the highest truth.
More and more, I notice my thoughts and feelings, but I no longer make the assumption that they are right–but I don’t assume they are wrong, either. They are only part of the information gathering that is occurring–perhaps the less important part.
The very alive information that is available, prior to thoughts and feelings, is what comes directly from remaining present. If I am caught in feelings or thoughts, I can’t really be with what is happening. And that is where I want to be–honoring the current unfolding moment. Here and now.
