Imagine:
lying on the grass under the dark of the moon on a warm August night. The vast, dark universe cradles the tiny planet we lie on. There! The Perseid shower begins–shooting stars, each with a brief, lighted life, sparkle above. We strain to see them, not wanting to miss the show.
And so it is with our thoughts. They come and go, each with the briefest life. We give them so much attention, neglecting the magnificent field from which they arise. Enjoy the show! Rest in the reliable vastness from which they come.
